The brief asked us to produce a narrative sequence of images that related to our research from object 1 and 2. My research into when my chosen chair (Le Corbusier's B306 Chaise Longue) was made led me to an edition of Aesop's Fables published in Paris in the same year. I chose the story of 'The goose that laid the golden eggs' and i wanted to remove it from its traditional setting but i wasn't sure how.. the interim group crit proved very helpful, where we came up with the idea of working on eggs. There was also a suggestion of shooting and skinning a goose and then tattooing the narrative sequence onto its skin but i'm not sure how practical that would have been considering the time restrictions and my lack of hunting and tattoo skills.
I initially tried working purely with gouache but it didn't work well due to the size of the eggs and the amount of information i wanted to contain. I didn't think that the eggshells would take pencil particularly well but I am actually quite pleased with the results.
